Rou Gui Oolong tea is one of the 5 well-known tea bushes that are grown in the already well-known Wuyi Mountains in Fujian. 

 

Breathtaking aromas

 

Rou Gui oolong tea is a deeply warming and balanced tea with a mineral-rich taste and a strong aromatic scent of fruit (peach) and cinnamon which are so typical for these so-called "Rock Teas" (Yancha). The infusion has a deep orange color with a roasted, somewhat spicy and floral scent and aftertaste.

 

Warming during the cold days

 

With its warming properties, this is also an ideal tea to drink during the cold days in autumn and winter. That is why we also have this delicious oolong tea in our Hot & Spicy Tea processed.

 

How to brew this Rou Gui Oolong Tea?

 

The traditional Gongfu brewing method, such as Gaiwan or Yixing or Chaozhou teapot, is the ideal way to brew Wuyi Rock tea. We suggest a higher leaf-to-water ratio, shorter steeping times, and brewing the tea at higher temperatures (approx. 95°C).

 

Dosage: 4-6 grams / 100ml

 

Temperature: 95-99°C

 

Infusion time: 20 seconds (+ 10 seconds extra with each subsequent infusion up to 8 infusions)
